When you grow up with an interior designer for a mother, you spend a lot of your childhood in fabric stores …and wear hand-painted shoes (seen above). Born and raised in Raleigh, NC, all I wanted to do was make things. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Textiles from the College of Textiles at NC State University. Itching to fly-the-coop, I went on to complete the International Fashion Studies program at the University of Westminster in London and earned a degree in Fashion Design from Parsons the New School for Design in New York.

Along the way, I bought a set of paint knives on a whim and was hooked. After designing for the apparel industry for over ten years, I bring with me an appreciation for quality and a penchant for color. My painting process is experimental and intuitive. From having designed both womenswear and menswear, I find beauty in the juxtaposition and relationship between the feminine and masculine —in my work, you’ll often find soft shapes and pops of color alongside inky linework and angular shapes. The more quirky elements are often a nod to childhood.

My art is frequently the catalyst for the creation of fine textile prints -currently only available to the apparel and home goods trade through my agent in New York. If you are an apparel or home goods company and would like to collaborate on a textile print, please send me a note via the Contact button below.
